My Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 Black review which is the latest version of smartband. This model comes with a heart rate sensor. It was released in November 2018. So, this can be considered as an upgraded version based on previous wearable release. The band is available at Gearbest store along with the other variants which are white and blue color.
Design:
The band has a sporty look and feel to it. It is also very slim and light weight. It is made up of thermoplastic elastomer material which is durable, flexible and comfortable to wear. There are no physical buttons on the band. All the interactions are done through the touch sensitive display. The screen is oled type and is not flat. It has a curve as seen in the image below.
The band comes with a silicon strap which is adjustable and can fit any size wrist. You can easily change the straps as per your choice by unclipping the two ends of the silicone strap from both sides.
Strap:
It can easily fit any size wrist. The strap is also made of similar material and comfortable to wear.
Display:
The display is a OLED touch screen which shows all the information like steps, calories, distance covered in walks, heart rate measurement and more. One can tap on the screen to see further details about the corresponding data. Overall, the display is very clear and looks good.
Alerts:
It also comes with smart alerts which vibrates and shows a notification when someone calls or messages you on your phone or else it can be anything like an alarm, meeting etc. This is definitely a useful feature as one does not need to look at the band every time to check the alerts.
Waterproof:
The band is waterproof and can be wore when in the shower or when doing sports. It has an IP rating of 68 which means it can withstand water ingress upto 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. One can wear the watch while swimming too without any problems. However, this does not include salt water and one should avoid using it under those conditions.
Charging:
The band comes with a charging cradle which snaps onto the back of the band and charges it wirelessly. The cradle is very small and easy to carry around. The charging time is about 2 hours and the band lasts for up to 14 days on a single charge.
Conclusion
Overall, the Mi Smart Band 6 Black is a great fitness band with good features and performance. The design, strap and display are all good and it is very comfortable to wear. It is also waterproof and has wireless charging. The only downside is that it is not suitable for swimming in salt water. So, if you like swimming this is not the best choice. Otherwise, you can definitely go for it if you are looking for a good wearable at an affordable price with most features packed in it.
